Spamalot and Redemptive Cycles

Looking for things to do in Birmingham can sometimes take some research. We’ve got you covered. Whether it’s a musical, a popular bar scene, or movies, there are plenty of activities around town to keep you happily entertained.

Monty Python’s Spamalot is a musical derived from the film Monty Python and the Holy Grail. The Virginia Samford Theater at Caldwell Park will be hosting the last few shows ending on October 2nd before the show moves along. This tongue-in-cheek performance creates a spoof from the tale of King Arthur and the round table and creates a perfectly crafted comedy. Don’t let your chances pass to see this musical as it’s last performances are this weekend with the last showing as a matinee on Sunday.

Need a good reason to grab a beer with some friends? Equal Access Birmingham (EAB) is a student-run free clinic providing free healthcare to those who may not be able to afford it, because I think we can all agree that every one deserves to be treated regardless of their bank account. Even cooler, you can buy a drink for Kathleen Hamrick who is planning on traveling to Brazil to run 157 miles in one of the hardest endurance races in the world called the Jungle Marathon. This marathon takes place throughout the Amazon Jungle and will be a continuous effort to raise money for EAB.

Sundays are intended to be lazy and relaxing, so to kick it up a notch, come lounge with Redemptive Cycles at their compound and enjoy a free showing of The Fourth Phase. There will be free snacks and swag, and of course, beer. With a price like “free,” you won’t have an excuse to miss out. While you are there, check out some of Redemptive Cycles’ bikes to join along for their Thursday ride-along called “trample.” Meeting new friends has never been so fun.
